Context

The vehicle is increasingly becoming part of the "Internet of Things". Increasing connectivity offers the opportunity to extend the vehicle's E/E architecture into the cloud. Individual vehicle functions can be removed from the vehicle and transferred to the cloud. The execution of vehicle functions in the cloud generates running costs (not necessarily only monetary) that need to be minimized.

Goals

  • Investigation of various cloud service models
  • State of the art research of cloud-based vehicle functions and associated business cases
  • Development of criteria for evaluating the execution of functions in the cloud (cost function)
  • Methodical cost optimization of the deployment of cloud-based vehicle functions
