Strengthening German-Chinese research cooperation - Delegation from Tongji University visits ITIV

The 2nd Sino-German International Graduate Academic Forum will take place from July 17 to 27, 2025 under the theme "Intelligent Technology and Green Development". The event is organized by the Chinese-German University College (CDHK) and the Chinese-German Doctoral School (CDDK) of Tongji University and will take the delegation to several German partner universities - including the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
The long-standing partnership between KIT and Tongji University can look back on a long tradition of cooperation and is continually being intensified through joint events such as summer schools and exchange programs. Several joint formats have already taken place in recent years, including the Sino-German Symposium on Sustainable Mobility, the joint Winter School on Embedded Systems and the Forum for Intelligent Manufacturing Technologies.
At ITIV, the delegation from Tongji University was warmly welcomed by Dr Tanja Harbaum and Professor Jürgen Becker, who, as Secretary General of the European CLUSTER network, had already initiated similar formats and organized corresponding Chinese-German cooperation programmes before the coronavirus pandemic. The guests included Professor Dr. TANG Qirong, Professor WU Ruiming, Professor XU Meiling and numerous Master's and doctoral students.
The focus was on current ITIV research topics such as embedded systems, signal processing and intelligent sensor systems as well as cooperation within the framework of the CLUSTER Sino-European Engineering Education Platform (SEEEP). In addition to specialist presentations and laboratory tours, the focus was on scientific exchange and discussions about future collaborations.
The forum offers a valuable platform for dialog between young scientists and professors from both countries. It underlines the importance of international cooperation in research and teaching - particularly in the field of sustainable technologies.
Another special occasion was the 200th anniversary of KIT, which provided a festive setting for the meeting and honored the long-standing partnership with Tongji University.
