Last week Prof. Eric Sax in his role as the Dean of the department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of Karlsruhe Institut for Technology (KIT) met the ambassador of Kenia, her excellency Madam Orina.

One of the hot topics of the discussion during dinner was the idea of remote teaching in Kenia.

The NGO Liberating Education Organization is realising this approach with several hubs in Africa; Konstantin Kölmel is one of the leading organizers of this voluntarily effort initiated by Leo Club Baden-Baden.

The goal is now to give an exclusive lecture at KIT and remotely participate in Kenia. Information technology is one of the hot topics including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. “We learnt how to teach across millions of kilometres during the Covid pandemic and even can assign credits and grades”, says Eric Sax. “So we are looking forward into a really fruitful cooperation to simplify the access to academic education in Kenia.”
