Simulative investigation of the behavior of regulations in the backend

Simulative investigation of the behavior of regulations in the backend

.

Background

The relocation of vehicle functions to a backend is a central topic in the vehicles of the future. As an example, one can imagine the calculation of a climate control system in the backend. A fallback control system remains in the vehicle. In the course of such a relocation of functions, it must be ensured that these can always be provided either by the vehicle or the backend.

Tasks

The task includes the following topics:

  • Simulative investigation of the behavior of the controls during dead times due to over the Air transmission link
  • Behavior of the regulation in case of loss of messages
  • Behavior of the backend control in case of unevenly arriving messages
  • Investigation of the required time intervals for different control methods (model predictive control vs. reinforcement learning)
  • Backup concepts for in-vehicle control. Ensuring coordinated switching between vehicle control and backend control.

Requirements

  • High self-motivation, programming knowledge, MATLAB knowledge is an advantage
