Experiencing technology up close: Group of students from Tulla-Gymnasium Rastatt visit ITIV

Promoting young talent with vision
ITIV

On July 29, 2025, a group of pupils from Tulla-Gymnasium Rastatt visited ITIV as part of their project days. Under the motto "Your entry into the world of microcontrollers", the young people were given exciting insights into the fascinating world of microelectronics.

Tanja Harbaum and M.Sc. Christian Karle (PhD student in Prof. Becker's team) and a short introduction were followed by a practical workshop in which the first microcontroller programs were written and tried out - a real highlight for many of the participants.

A tour of ITIV and the institutes IPQ (Photonics and Quantum Electronics, presented by Patrick Matalla) and IHE (High Frequency Technology and Electronics, represented by Alexander Quint) offered insights into current research projects and innovative demonstrators (presented at ITIV by David Kraus).

A joint lunch in the canteen rounded off the day and provided an opportunity to exchange ideas with students and researchers.

Such visits show how practical and future-oriented research is at KIT - and how much potential there is in the next generation.
