Development of a testbench for testing and evaluation of perception algorithms

Platooning

Context

Platooning refers to the automated driving of vehicles in a convoy, where the vehicles are networked with each other and monitor the environment with the help of external sensors. An important aspect in the process chain is the collection and processing of environment data. Perception algorithms that process the environment data must be tested in different scenarios and situations in order to be able to evaluate them with respect to various criteria such as robustness, accuracy or runtime. Tasks

  • Research on established simulation environments for the analysis of sensor data processing in an automotive context
  • Design and implementation of a modular simulation pipeline for testing perception algorithms
  • Development of a CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) pipeline for automated testing of new/updated perception algorithms

Requirements

  • High level of self-motivation, independent and solution-oriented working style
  • Programming skills, preferably in Python or C++
