The increasing use of software in vehicles means that ever greater volumes of data have to be processed, and more computationally intensive tasks can also be outsourced to the back end. This is particularly useful for data-driven function development.
In the U-Shift project(, a monitoring function is to be trained with the accruing data in the backend at the vehicle's test time and then executed in the vehicle during the demonstration phase.
