Environment

The electrification of coaches provide an important contribution to future sustainable mobility. However, the limited range of battery-electric buses faces bus operators with new challenges. Optimizing the energy efficiency and thus the range of the bus is becoming increasingly important and should support the electrification of long-distance mobility.

The routes of electrified buses must be specifically planned according to the energy demand, which depends on a variety of external factors. These include the ambient temperature, the elevation profile of the route and the current traffic situation. For efficient operation of the buses, a prediction model to determine the future energy demand is beneficial.

  • Simulation of the energy demand of an electrified bus
  • Implementation of a prediction model with subsequent optimization and validation

  • Programming skills in C/ C++ and Python/ Matlab.
