Classification and analysis of SDVs in the context of security-relevant software updates
Context
Software-defined vehicles (SDVs) are at the center of current developments in the automotive industry. The increasing virtualization and modularization of vehicle functions through software leads to new challenges in terms of safety, update management and testability. Safety-relevant software updates in particular must be reliably tested and validated in order to minimize risks. A well-founded classification of SDVs and an overview of the state of the art are essential in order to further develop automated test processes in a targeted manner.
Objectives
- Systematic research and summary of current publications, standards and websites on SDVs
- Development of a classification of SDVs (e.g. according to architecture, update capability, security requirements)
- Identification of relevant aspects for the automated testing of security-relevant software updates
- Derivation of requirements and challenges for future test processes
Prerequisites
- Interest in modern vehicle architectures and software development in the automotive sector
- Basic knowledge of software engineering and system architectures
- Ability to conduct structured literature research and analyze technical content
