Classification and analysis of SDVs in the context of security-related software updates
Context
Software-defined vehicles (SDVs) are at the center of current developments in the automotive industry. The increasing virtualization and modularization of vehicle functions through software is leading to new challenges in terms of safety, update management, and testability. Safety-related software updates in particular must be reliably tested and validated in order to minimize risks. A well-founded classification of SDVs and an overview of the state of the art are essential for the targeted further development of automated test processes.
Targets
- Systematic research and summary of current publications, standards, and websites on SDVs
- Development of a classification of SDVs (e.g., according to architecture, update capability, security requirements)
- Identification of relevant aspects for the automated testing of security-relevant software updates
- Derivation of requirements and challenges for future testing processes
Requirements
- Interest in modern vehicle architectures and software development in the automotive sector
- Basic knowledge of software engineering and system architectures
- Ability to conduct structured literature research and analyze technical content
