Development of a process for dynamic function relocation of safety-critical vehicle functions

Background:

The relocation of vehicle functions to the cloud opens up a wide range of potential for both the end customer and the vehicle manufacturer. However, it must also be taken into account that the technical feasibility of a shift depends on a large number of factors, which must be identified in order to develop a function shifting process as a result.

Aims of the work

The following topics will be addressed in this work:

  • Elaboration of a classification of vehicle functions and their assessment for potential relocation to the cloud.
  • Elaboration of a process for dynamic relocation of vehicle function between the cloud and the ECU in the vehicle.

Necessary skills:

  • Motivation and creative thinking skills
  • Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, Python and/or C/C++ is an advantage.
