Development and implementation of an actuator-controlled bed transfer system to increase efficiency in hospitals

Development and implementation of an actuator-controlled bed transfer system to increase efficiency in hospitals

Context

In hospitals, the regular transfer of patients to examination or operating theaters usually requires a team of two nursing staff. In order to relieve the nursing staff and increase efficiency, the development and implementation of an actuator-controlled bed transfer system can play an important role. For research in this field, we offer an exciting opportunity for a Bachelor's thesis.

Tasks

  • Development of a studio for recording bed transportation processes.
  • Implementation of the studio in a hospital environment.
  • Logging of time and cost records for bed transfers.
  • Creation of a comprehensive final report.
  • Development of an actuator-controlled bed transfer system.

Aims

The aim of this work is to develop a studio in a hospital in which time and cost records of bed transportation processes are recorded and subsequently evaluated. In addition, a concept for an actuator-controlled bed transfer system is to be developed and implemented under laboratory conditions. Here, too, time and cost records of bed transports will be recorded and evaluated.

Requirements

  • Students in the field of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering science/economics or comparable degree programmes
  • Interest in the development and implementation of actuator-controlled systems
  • Ability to carry out data analyses
  • Ability to work in a team and commitment
