Dermatologie FZI

Context

In Germany alone, over 8 million people suffer from chronic skin diseases. Waiting times for university treatment appointments average 6 months, making it difficult to avoid flare-ups and escalations. The HybridVITA project is researching a telemedical approach to enable the treatment of dermatology patients through an online service using a smartphone app. A tactile interface is also being developed to enable doctors to feel the patient's skin based on images and 3D models without having to be on site.

Tasks

  • You will familiarize yourself with image processing in the field of telemedicine and compare existing approaches.
  • You will develop a system (from an existing approach or your own) that creates 3D models from image data of affected house sites.
  • You will evaluate your developed system.

Requirements

  • You are studying electrical engineering, computer science or a related course.
  • You are committed, motivated and have a careful and conscientious way of working.
  • At best, you have some experience with image processing.
