Context

Future innovations in the automotive industry will focus on automated driving. Virtualization solutions are increasingly being used to adequately test and safeguard these technologies. The approval and validation of highly automated driving functions pose new challenges for approval authorities and vehicle manufacturers. As part of a project with the FZI, the selection of parameters required for a logical scenario for testing is to be investigated.

Tasks

  • During your time at the FZI, you will be part of a closely coordinated team and work in the field of data-based validation of automated driving functions.
  • Your main task will be the selection of parameters for a logical test scenario for the validation of highly automated driving.
  • You can conceptualize, design and implement approaches and methods yourself and execute them in your own test environment.
  • First, you will carry out a physical and logical reduction of test cases and efforts - if possible, this will be done without major test efforts on the basis of logical contexts.
  • You then create measurements via a virtual test instance, analyze them and transfer them into an approach.
  • Finally, you will compare your approach with other existing methods and integrate it into the overall concept.
  • The work includes both theoretical and practical elements, so that your working day is varied and flexible.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor's / Master's degree in electrical engineering and information technology or a related field of study.
  • You are interested in testing highly automated driving functions.
  • You enjoy working in a young and motivated team.
  • You are proficient in the programming languages Python and Matlab.
  • You have an above-average degree of initiative and a careful, conscientious way of working.
  • You have very good strategic and communication skills as well as media sensitivity.
  • You have a very good command of written and spoken German or English.
