Application of an Ontology for the Systematic Generation of Evaluations for Autonomous Driving Functions

Context

Future innovations in the automotive industry are centered around automated driving and highly connected communication. To adequately test and validate these technologies, virtualization solutions are increasingly being used. As part of a project with the FZI, we are investigating how an ontology can be used to create evaluations for highly automated driving functions (HAF). To this end, an existing ontology will be utilized and expanded. Subsequently, the developed ontology will be used to automatically derive evaluation criteria and test cases. Appropriate approaches for this will be developed as part of the position.

Responsibilities

• Familiarization with the concept of an ontology and existing methods for testing automated systems.
• Expansion of the existing ontology
• Identifying methodologies for designing tests and evaluation criteria
• Implementation of the developed method in the test automation tool.

Requirements

• Interest in driver assistance systems
• Programming experience and an interest in the concept of ontologies
• Very good command of German or English
• Ability to work independently, motivation, and dedication
