Application of an ontology to systematically generate ratings for autonomous driving functions

AutomatisiertesFahren

Context

Future innovations in the automotive industry will be in the area of automated driving and highly networked communication. In order to be able to adequately test and validate these technologies, virtualization solutions are increasingly used. As part of a project with FZI, we are investigating how an ontology can be used to create assessments for highly automated driving (HAF) functions. For this purpose, an existing ontology is to be used and extended. Subsequently, the built ontology shall be used to automatically derive evaluation criteria and test cases. Appropriate approaches are to be developed for this purpose within the scope of the position.

Tasks

  • Familiarization with the concept of an ontology and the existing methods for testing automated systems.
  • Extension of the existing ontology
  • Determination of methodologies for the design of tests and evaluation criteria
  • Implementation of the developed methodology in the test automation tool.

Requirements

  • Interest in driver assistance systems
  • Programming experience and interest in the concept of an ontology
  • Very good knowledge of German or English
  • Independent work, motivation and commitment
