Context

In automotive domains, like connectivity, safety or comfort, the number of vehicle functions steadily increases. Additionally, electrification brings sophisticated power electronics into cars. Therefore, model-based approaches at system level have been successfully applied to handle a resulting complexity within the e/e architecture’s design process. Hereby, the development is split into layers that build up on each other, beginning with requirement engineering and ending with wiring harness design. A rapidly changing development environment accessorily demands flexibility and a growing cost pressure requires early, dynamic and fast evaluation and optimization capabilities. Simulation offers manifold opportunities to meet these additional needs and forms the central subject of research in this work.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • explore the rapidly evolving and fascinating automotive world’s state-of-the-art
  • determine industrially important use-cases for simulation driven development of e/e architectures
  • find use-case-driven, innovative concepts for transformation, generation, modeling, visualization, benchmarking, optimization or tool coupling within the Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP)
  • implement prototypically and scale-up your concepts within the PREEvision modeling tool
  • evaluate chances and difficulties under industrial boundary conditions

Your benefits

  • contribute to future e/e-architecture’s design while working on a highly industrial relevant topic
  • increase your programming and modeling skills
  • gather experience with the professional PREEvision state-of-the art tool

Requirements

  • good JAVA programming skills and creative mindset
