Summary of the dissertation

The work addresses the challenges in the software life cycle during vehicle production, in particular extended in-line flashing times and unstable commissioning processes.

To this end, the concept of production-oriented software partitioning is presented. This novel software distribution proposes to physically isolate the production-related software parts. The concept was successfully implemented on a microcontroller with a fully functional AUTOSAR Classic platform. By splitting into a stable base part and frequently changing customer parts, the duration of in-line flashing can be shortened due to the reduced amount of data and reliability during commissioning can be increased. The methodology enables the conversion of existing legacy systems and offers the potential to be integrated into series development in the short term.
