Summary of the dissertation

Driver assistance systems and automated driving systems make a key contribution to increasing vehicle safety and driving comfort. The application plays a decisive role here - i.e. the precise adjustment of these systems to their respective system environment in order to reliably realize the desired vehicle characteristics.

This dissertation deals with the database required for a representative application of such systems. The aim was to ensure that during the application process, a realistic and representative evaluation and tuning for the subsequent application is carried out. From this, a process for globally optimized, data-driven application was developed, which makes it possible to achieve a meaningful and representative system tuning with just a few, targeted application runs.

We are delighted to have been able to accompany Jacob Langner on his journey as a doctoral student of Prof. Eric Sax and wish him continued success for the future.
