Context

As part of our research projects, a digital platform is being developed to provide low-threshold access to individualized treatment strategies for neurodegenerative diseases in an outpatient setting. Using digital methods and mobile sensor technologies to control risk factor-based intervention strategies, this treatment process will be integrated into a mobile support solution and accompanied by various tools. The aim of this position is to contribute to the development of applications that will be integrated into the digital platform for the treatment of specific risk factors for dementia.

Tasks

As part of your assistant job, you will be responsible for the design and development of selected aspects of the platform. This is designed to help users manage and treat risk factors for dementia such as physical inactivity, poor diet, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption. The aim is to have a real impact and help in the fight against dementia. In the development, we need support in the following areas, where people can contribute according to their strengths:

  • You will conduct a review of existing approaches.
  • You work with a team of developers and experts to develop concepts for a user-friendly and effective platform.
  • You implement requirements into an existing app and web application.
  • You document the design and development process according to relevant standards in medical device development.

Requirements

  • Independent thinking and working.
  • Good knowledge of German or English.
  • High level of self-motivation and commitment.
  • Very good knowledge of web and app development (Flutter/Angular/Docker etc.) or interest in learning these.
  • An idea of user experience design and mobile application development or related topics.
  • Own creative and innovative approaches within the project.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Sketch, Figma or Adobe XD.
  • Interest in the prevention and treatment of dementia and related neurological conditions.
  • Ability and desire to work in a team-oriented manner.
