Representatives from ITIV visited the BME Automated Drive Lab in Budapest to strengthen existing partnerships and explore new opportunities for collaboration.

Prof. Eric Sax traveled there with his research staff—Marc Schindewolf, Dr. Jochen Hagel, and Maximilian Beck—and met with Zsolt Szalay, Arpad Torok, and other colleagues from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME).

The discussions focused on vehicle safety, vehicle development methods, intelligent transportation solutions, and future research topics. Various approaches to joint research activities, publications, and the exchange of researchers and students were discussed.

In addition, the delegation attended the TechStage event. There, Prof. Eric Sax joined Kristóf Varga-Balázs in discussing the development of the German automotive industry and the future of vehicle software from the perspectives of academia and industry. The panel discussion generated great interest and led to a lively exchange with the audience.

The ITIV would like to thank the team at the BME Automated Drive Lab for their hospitality and the inspiring discussions, and looks forward to continued collaboration.
