ITIV to Serve as Organizing Committee for IEEE ISVLSI 2026
The IEEE Computer Society Annual Symposium on VLSI (ISVLSI) 2026 took place July 7–10, 2026, in Kolkata, India. This international conference is one of the leading courses in the divisions of VLSI systems, chip design, design automation, hardware security, and embedded systems, bringing together researchers from academia and industry around the world.
The Institute for Information Processing Technology (ITIV) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) was also involved in organizing the conference. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. Jürgen Becker served as Special Session Co-Chair and was also Chair of the Steering Committee for the ISVLSI conference series. In these roles, he supported the scientific planning of the conference and the further development of the international event format.
In addition to his involvement with ISVLSI 2026, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. Jürgen Becker delivered a keynote address on July 5, 2026, at the 1st International Conference on VLSI Circuits and Systems (ICVCS 2026), which was also held as a course in Kolkata. During the course, he met, among others, Prof. Dr. Ricardo Reis from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil.
In addition, the ITIV was represented on the organizing committee by Dr.-Ing. Tanja Harbaum. She served as Publicity Co-Chair, thereby supporting the conference’s international communication and visibility.
ISVLSI 2026 offered a wide-ranging program featuring keynote speeches by renowned scientists as well as presentations on current topics such as artificial intelligence, hardware security, chiplet technologies, FPGA systems, and future design methods for integrated circuits.
By participating in the organization and scientific direction of the conference, the ITIV underscores its long-standing international network and its visibility in the research areas of VLSI, embedded systems, and design automation.
