Cooperation meets teaching: future technologies in the focus of the DEEP project

Guest lecture by Dr. Ing. Karim Guirguis (SiMa.AI) at ITIV

As part of the Hardware/Software Co-Design course, Dr. Ing. Karim Guirguis (SiMa.AI) inspired the students with his guest lecture at ITIV. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. Jürgen Becker, Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Inform. Tanja Harbaum and Prof. Dr. Torben Ferber and ensured a strong response in the NTI lecture hall.

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with the Institute for Information Processing Technology (ITIV) and the Institute for Experimental Particle Physics (ETP) is working together with SiMa.AI in the new BMFTR DEEP research project - a cooperation that closely links research, education and industry and sets new standards for innovation.

The guest lecture is a key moment in this strategic partnership: it brings international startup expertise directly into student practice and underlines the strategic importance of our joint research for the chip design industry.

Prof. Dr. Torben Ferber has taken over the scientific coordination of the project and ensures the close integration of research and industrial application.

In this way, we are demonstrating practical, future-oriented teaching - and how crucial strong corporate partnerships are for technological excellence at KIT.
