Hardware Module for CAN fault injection
Context
The Institute is seeking a HiWi to join our research team and assist in the implementation of a hardware module for CAN fault injection. The module will be used to simulate various faults in a CAN network, allowing us to evaluate the robustness of the network and the devices connected to it.
As a HiWi, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the hardware module for CAN fault injection. This will involve using hardware description languages (HDLs) such as Verilog or VHDL. Additionally, you will work closely with our team to develop and execute test cases for the module.
The ideal candidate will have experience with hardware design and HDLs such as Verilog or VHDL, and a solid understanding of CAN communication protocol. Experience in fault injection and/or hardware security is a plus.
This is an opportunity for a HiWi to gain hands-on experience in hardware design and embedded systems. The position is part-time and flexible, with a workload of around 10-20 hours per week.
If you are interested in this position, please submit your application, including your CV and a short statement of interest.
Tasks
Implementation and Test of a hardware module inserting faults into the transmission of can messages inside FPGA designs.
Requirements
- Knowledge in hardware description language like VHDL
- Knowledge in CAN communication (through CSP)
- ability to work independently and high self-motivation
