Development of a vehicle simulation model

Reisebus

Context

Electrification of coaches is essential for the environmentally friendly mobility of tomorrow. However, the limited range of battery-electric buses presents bus operators with new challenges. Optimizing energy efficiency and thus the range of coaches is becoming increasingly important and should support the electrification of long-distance mobility. To this end, a simulation model was developed to simulate energy flows in the electrical intermediate circuit. In the following, the simulation model will be further developed and extended to include auxiliary units such as thermal systems.

Tasks

  • Modeling the energy requirements of auxiliary units and integrating them into the vehicle simulation model

  • Modeling of thermal systems (e.g. temperature of the battery system)

  • Analysis of potentials for increasing energy efficiency

Prerequisites

  • Programming skills in Python/ Matlab / Simulink

  • Independent and solution-oriented way of working
