Development of a reliable V2V vehicle connection in urban buses
An important component of automated driving is the communication between vehicles. In this thesis, a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) system for a platooning application will be developed and tested between two vehicles. In so-called platooning, the automated following of several vehicles with the help of a technical control system without mechanical coupling in a small distance.
The thesis is supervised in cooperation with a bus manufacturer and there is the possibility to work directly on site for a limited period of time. The company is located in Deurne in the Netherlands near Eindhoven.

Goals:
- Introduction to the structure and exchange of CAN messages
- Implementation and test of a V2V communication interface
- Evaluation of the transmission properties (e.g. stability, latencies)
Requirements:
- Interest in hardware, connected vehicles and data processing
- Good programming knowledge in C/C++ or Python
- Experience with ROS advantageous
- Good English skills; Independent and solution-oriented way of working
